Case forms as a means of expressing intrasyntactic time in the Mari language
The aim of the study is to identify the grammatical features of intrasyntactic time in the Mari language, the means of expressing which are case forms. The article examines case forms in combination with verb forms, which allow for a more detailed indication of syntactic time in a sentence and reveal its essence. The author points out that when studying the category of predicativity, syntactic temporality, and modality, these forms play a huge role in revealing the category of intrasyntactic time. The scientific novelty lies in the fact that in the Mari language, case forms as a means of expressing intrasyntactic time are described and systematized for the first time. Furthermore, at present, no special works have been conducted on the study of syntactic time and the means of its expression in the Mari language. The research found that in the Mari language, case forms are a means of expressing intrasyntactic time within the framework of the study of the category of syntactic temporality. The results obtained showed that the previously unexamined category of intrasyntactic time has its own peculiarities due to the case system of the Mari language, which includes subject-object and locative cases, as well as vocabulary that in most cases is used with the semantics of time.
