Driver Weariness and Alcoholic Intoxication Detection System
The frequency of traffic accidents is rising daily. Driver weariness and intoxication are among the primary causes. Detecting drowsiness and alcohol consumption can reduce such accidents. This study presents a prototype system using an embedded platform to detect drowsiness and yawning in real time. The proposed model uses a Raspberry Pi camera and various sensors to monitor driver alertness through blink and yawn frequency, alcohol levels, and pulse rate. The system issues alert upon exceeding thresholds, ensuring timely notifications to enhance road safety. Testing results demonstrate the system's reliability in accurately detecting drowsiness and alcohol intoxication.
