Visual Axis Control of Seeker Stabilization Platform Based on Super-Twisting Algorithm

The stabilization platform of the seeker is a key component of precision-guided weapons. Factors such as vibration shocks and enemy interference can severely impact the identification and tracking accuracy of the platform”s visual axis. The seeker”s stabilization platform is also a nonlinear system, making traditional PID control methods inadequate to meet performance requirements. Therefore, this paper proposes a terminal sliding mode-based super-twisting servo control method, with stability proven using Lyapunov functions. Additionally, to further enhance the seeker”s anti-interference capability, an extended state observer is incorporated into the visual axis angular velocity control loop to compensate for disturbances, allowing the seeker to maintain high-performance operation even under various interferences. Finally, simulations comparing a PID controller, a PID controller with an observer, a standalone super-twisting controller, and a super-twisting controller with an observer are conducted in MATLAB/Simulink. The results from dynamic tracking and disturbance experiments indicate that the combination of the super-twisting algorithm and the extended state observer significantly improves the dynamic tracking performance and anti-interference capability of the seeker.
