Inventory Management in Augmented Reality Using Apple ARKit for VisionOS
This research work introduced an innovative iOS application to enhance Inventory Management through Augmented Reality (AR) technology. Leveraging VisionOS as the foundational platform, complemented by VisionPro for augmented reality interactions, the development process encompassed creating a robust system architecture, a user-friendly interface, and seamless integration of AR features. The application empowered users to explore physical inventory spaces in three dimensions visually, leveraging VisionOS functionalities for real-time insights and intuitive interaction via gestures and touch controls on iOS devices. A comprehensive user study, involving participants spanning diverse professional backgrounds, was conducted to evaluate user satisfaction, efficiency gains, and overall experience. This study aimed to contribute a novel approach by seamlessly integrating advanced AR technology with the practical requirements of inventory management systems. The envisioned system held promise in revolutionizing inventory management practices by providing real-time insights, reducing errors associated with manual data entry, and enhancing decision-making through intuitive visualizations.
