Leveraging AI for Superior Corrosion Resistance in Industrial Application
In the highly competitive cigarette manufacturing industry, adhesive systems are crucial yet vulnerable components often exposed to corrosive environments, leading to rapid material degradation and increased maintenance costs. This study leverages machine learning to accelerate the development of novel corrosion-resistant alloys tailored for these harsh operational conditions. By employing an an explainable random forest algorithm, we optimized alloy compositions to maximize corrosion resistance while maintaining mechanical integrity. Comprehensive electrochemical testing and real-world simulations demonstrated that the newly developed alloys outperform traditional materials, particularly in chloride-rich and fluctuating pH environments. Our findings highlight the transformative potential of AI-driven material design in enhancing the efficiency, durability, and cost-effectiveness of industrial machinery, setting a new benchmark for integrating intelligent technologies in material science. This research not only extends the lifespan of critical machine components but also paves the way for future innovations in smart manufacturing systems.
