Obstacle Avoidance for UAV Swarm Based on Pigeon Flock Dynamic Interaction Mechanism

In recent years, unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) have shown great application prospects in various fields. Compared to single UAV, UAV swarm can collaborate to perform tasks, improving the flexibility and efficiency of task execution. However, to achieve collaborative operation of UAV swarm, a series of technical challenges need to be solved, among which the most critical one is to ensure that the UAV swarm can safely and efficiently avoid obstacles. This paper proposes a UAV swarm obstacle avoidance control framework based on the interaction mechanism of pigeon flock, fully utilizing the self-organizing characteristics of bird groups, enabling the UAV swarm to bypass obstacles and maintain the integrity of the formation flexibly. The simulation results show that this bionic distributed control method can not only significantly improve the obstacle avoidance capability of the UAV swarm but also has strong robustness and adaptability, providing an effective solution for the collaborative operation of UAV swarm.
