Improving Transmission Efficiency and Reliability for UAV Networks Based on Loongson Embedded System

This paper introduces the QUIC(Quick UDP Internet Connection) protocol into UAV(Unmanned Aerial Vehicle) networks with the aim of enhancing transmission efficiency and reliability for UAV networks on Loongson embedded system. It briefly outlines the principles and characteristics of QUIC, substantiates the feasibility of porting QUIC to Loongson embedded system, which can serve as control unit of UAV networks, and sets up a semi-physical network emulation platform to comparatively test the performance of QUIC against TCP(Transmission Control Protocol) and UDP(User Datagram Protocol) in networking environments. The results show that QUIC is approximately 61.82% faster than TCP under normal conditions and about 13.8 times faster under extreme conditions. Additionally, QUIC is 88.7% more reliable than UDP in the tested channel environment, indicating that QUIC is a more ideal transport layer protocol for UAV networks.
