A Method for Establishing a “Life-Like Health Check Quantification System” Based on a Multi-Task State GNC Subsystem with Identical Configuration
The health check system for living organisms assesses the overall health status of an organism by independently diagnosing key indicators of its multi-functional organs and finally synthesizing these diagnoses into a comprehensive health value. The GNC subsystem (Guidance, Navigation, and Control subsystem) serves as the core of satellite platform and mission control, incorporating various attitude sensors, orbit measurers, attitude control actuators, and orbit control actuators. Together with GNC software algorithms for attitude, orbit, navigation, and guidance functions, these components are orchestrated by the on-board computer, the “brain” of the system, to accomplish various on-orbit control tasks. The operational status of both hardware configurations and software functions collectively affects the overall health of the GNC subsystem. This paper proposes a method for constructing a “life-like health check quantification system” tailored for GNC subsystems with identical hardware configurations and multi-task capabilities. The method involves decomposing the GNC subsystem into “organ-like” modules, conducting independent diagnoses on each module, and finally deriving an overall health score for the entire subsystem using a priori health quantification algorithms. This health check system holds promising applications for the on-orbit maintenance of formation-flying satellite constellations equipped with GNC systems of similar configurations and multi-task states [1] [2].
