Coordinated Control Strategy of Virtual Inertia Based on Particle Swarm Optimization

With the widespread application of renewable energy, optimizing grid frequency stability has become particularly important. This paper proposes a coordinated control strategy for virtual inertia based on particle swarm optimization (PSO) to improve the frequency response in photovoltaic grid-connected systems. By simulating the characteristics of synchronous machines and combining high-pass filters and the PSO algorithm, this study develops a new control framework that dynamically adjusts virtual inertia. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed strategy significantly optimizes the frequency recovery process and reduces frequency fluctuations caused by sudden load changes. Moreover, compared to traditional methods, the strategy proposed in this paper not only maintains system stability but also reduces voltage fluctuations, thereby proving its potential application in modern power grids.
