3D Guidance for Maneuvering Targets with Terminal Angle Constraints: An Incremental Nonsingular Terminal Sliding Mode Approach

In this paper, a three-dimensional guidance law is proposed against maneuvering targets with considering terminal angle constraints. First, dynamics of the line-of-sight (LOS) angle are derived, thereby facilitating the guidance law design. Second, a novel incremental nonsingular terminal sliding mode (INTSM) guidance law is designed by combining the incremental nonlinear dynamic inversion technique with the nonsingular terminal sliding mode (NTSM) control design. Different from the conventional NTSM guidance law, the effects of external disturbances caused by maneuvering targets are significantly reduced by employing the incremental control strategy, thus chattering can be suppressed. Finally, a series of simulation studies illustrate the superiority of the proposed INTSM guidance law.
