Utilizing ESP Mesh Ad-hoc Networking for Home-Based Planting Facility
Due to the lack of a low-cost plant cultivator with low difficulty of use for home application scenarios, in this paper, we propose an ESP Mesh Ad-hoc Networking-based home gardening facility design, which aims to achieve efficient plant cultivation in the home environment through intelligent and networked technologies. The system combines intelligent control, low cost, and high adaptability to address the challenges of space constraints, unstable climate conditions, and lack of professional horticultural knowledge that are common in home gardening. By presetting a variety of common plant and vegetable cultivation modes, the system enables users to easily operate and manage the system, making it particularly suitable for home application scenarios. Adopting ESP Mesh networking technology, the system realizes a modular distribution design and relies on wireless connection between functional modules, reducing installation complexity and cost. The design not only adapts to changing climatic conditions, but also optimizes the plant growth environment through intelligent control to improve plant growth efficiency and yield. However, the stability of this design in extreme environments has yet to be verified. Moreover, there are only automated planting methods for a few common plants, and more plants are planned to be covered in the future. In summary, this paper details the hardware and software architecture of the system and explores its potential for domestic and agricultural applications. The great value of the system in enhancing urban greening, improving air quality and promoting smart agriculture is demonstrated.
