Load Frequency Control of Multi-Area Power Systems based on Event-Triggered Control

This paper addresses load frequency control in multi-area power systems under Denial-of-Service (DoS) attacks. It proposes an event-triggered control (ETC) strategy to reduce communication overhead and control costs. Sufficient conditions for asymptotic stability and <tex xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">$H$</tex>œ performance are derived. Specifically, a novel time-varying Lyapunov function (TVLF) is introduced, which requires less information about DoS duration, helping to alleviate the conservatism in stability analysis. The effectiveness of the proposed approach is demonstrated through a numerical case study involving a three-area power system.
