Physics-Based Modelling and Nonlinear Model Predictive Control of Gas Turbines
Gas turbines are reliable and highly efficient power machines which show high nonlinearity. Nonlinear model predictive control is applied to the gas turbine plant in this paper. A physics-based nonlinear model of gas turbine is firstly introduced which is described in component level. The NMPC is constructed utilizing the physics-based model as the predictive model. Constraints are add into the objective function in penalty terms. Proportion and integral of error are used in feedback correction. The simulation experiments are carried out to verify the NMPC performance in comparison with PID. The results indicates that NMPC has satisfying tracking and disturbance resisting ability.
