Use of Acetylacetone Extractions in Ferrous Analysis [Thesis]
The extraction characteristics of the hydrated ions of Cr (III), Fe (II)s Fe (III), Mn (II), Mo (VI), Ti (IV), V (III), V (IV), V (V) and W (VI) have been investigated using a 1:1 acetylacetone-chloroform solvent mixture. The 1:1 solvent mixture has been successful in removing large quantities of iron from solutions of ferrous samples. The extraction data for Cr (III), Mo (VI) and V (III) have been used in developing procedures for the analysis of these elements in ferrous materials.
