An Imaging In-Flow System for Automated Analysis of Quantifying PostLarvae(Shrimp)

Accurate counting of post-larvae is a fundamental aspect of aquaculture management, directly impacting the success and sustainability of farming operations, but manual process which is not only laborintensive and time-consuming but also poses risks to the juvenile prawns. This research examines how image processing can improve larvae counting process by using a video camera in a flowing water system. This system includes control valves to adjust water flow and manage the counting of larvae by avoiding overlapping. It offers more efficient and less laborintensive solution compared to manual counting by combining the precision of image processing with the controlled environment of a flowing water system, offering high accuracy and efficiency in counting larvae. This article addresses the challenges of working with moving water and explores how this system can be built to adapt for different types of aquatic species with experimental data. The goal of this research is to enhance the accuracy and efficiency of counting post-larvae, benefiting aquaculture operations.
