Advanced 7-Core Fiber Optical OFDM Access System with Enhanced Security Using Chaos Encryption and Polar Coding
Passive optical network using orthogonal frequency division multiplexing that is both extremely safe and dependable (OFDM-PON). This system uses a chaotic encryption technique incorporated into polar codes to increase data security and transmission reliability. Among the data elements encrypted during polar encoding are the subcarrier sequences, frozen bits, and information index bit matrix. The system creates these chaotic sequences by using the three-dimensional Chua's circuit model. The purpose of this chaotic encryption technology is to provide effective protection against unauthorized access with low computational expense. The system's performance is proved in a real experiment by sending a 70 Gb/s polar-encoded encrypted 16QAM-OFDM signal across a two-kilometer seven-core fiber. In comparison to a traditional 16QAM-OFDM system without Forward Error Correction (FEC), the results demonstrate a 2.1 dB increase in receiver sensitivity for a given 10–3 Bit Error Rate (BER). In addition, the system's key space is 1084, providing robust protection against unwanted Optical Network Unit (ONU) intrusions. This polar-coded OFDM-PON, which is chaos-encrypted and offers increased security and BER, is a great option for dependable, low-cost optical access networks. It provides a viable option for safe, effective optical networks in the future.
