Multiparameter dependence of laser-induced CFRP surface processing mechanism
Carbon fiber reinforced polymer (CFRP) is a novel composite material characterized by its outstanding advantages, such as being lightweight, high strength, and corrosion resistant, and it has a wide range of applications. This study primarily investigates the surface machining mechanisms of CFRP induced by various laser parameters, focusing on laser pulse width. The surface processing of CFRP was conducted using varying laser parameters to examine the trends in damage area and morphology under various conditions. The analysis reveals the surface machining mechanisms of CFRP induced by multiple laser parameters, thus laying the theoretical and technical foundation for the laser processing of composite materials. A combined ns-ps laser surface treatment technique was proposed, significantly improving surface roughness. This approach is crucial for optimizing CFRP surface quality and enhancing its reliability and stability in high-tech applications, such as aerospace and automotive manufacturing.
