Application and research advances of the hybridization capture sequencing technology
<p indent="0mm">With the development of sequencing technology, the hybridization capture sequencing technology can enrich and sequence-specific genes or genomic target regions by designing specific biotinylated baits to hybridize with the target DNA sequences. This method achieves rapid and accurate detection of the variant loci of the target regions with a smaller amount of data and greatly reduces sequencing costs. In this paper, we systematically reviewed the extensive application and research advances of the hybridization capture sequencing technology in animal, plant, microorganism, and medical study areas. This method highlights the great potential in ancient DNA research, host DNA enrichment of non-invasive samples, the detection of diseases, viruses, and pathogens. In addition, the problems and solutions encountered in the application and development of the hybridization capture sequencing are discussed, and the optimization direction of this technology is prospected. This review provides a reference for further application and development of the hybridization capture sequencing technology.
