Effectiveness of marble powder to improve compaction of low-water content soil

Abstract. Arid environmental conditions in arid areas are characterized by little precipitation and substantial evaporation, which substantially influence soil water content, which is essential for soil compaction. The present study evaluates how incorporating powder marble impacts the compaction of low-grade soil under conditions of low water content. Modified Proctor and California Bearing Ratio (CBR) tests were conducted to assess these effects. The results revealed that incorporating 15% marble powder into the soil significantly improved maximum dry density and CBR values, indicating improved compaction and load-bearing capacity.
