THE ESSENCE OF TOURIST DESTINATION AND METHODS OF ITS DEVELOPMENT RESEARCH

This study aims to deeply understand the essence of the tourist destination and analyze effective methods of its development in the context of modern challenges and trends in the tourism industry. The topic's relevance is due to the growing importance of tourism as one of the leading sectors of the world economy and the need to ensure the sustainable development of tourist regions. Today's global changes, such as digitalization and social transformations, require finding innovative approaches to managing tourist destinations to achieve their long-term competitiveness. The research methodology includes an interdisciplinary approach that combines economic, social, and environmental aspects. The main methods were the analysis of scientific publications, structural and functional analysis to identify the key components of a tourist destination, and a comparative method, which made it possible to determine the best practices for the development of tourist regions. In addition, forecasting methods were used to assess the potential for introducing innovative technologies in the tourism industry. The study results showed that a tourist destination is an integrated system combining natural, cultural, social, and economic resources. Strategic planning focused on sustainable development is a key element of the successful functioning of destinations. Using digital platforms, big data tools, and VR technologies opens up new opportunities for optimizing costs, attracting tourists, and preserving natural resources. Environmentally oriented initiatives, such as the introduction of ecotourism, contribute to reducing the negative impact on the environment. Particular attention is paid to the involvement of local communities in destination management, which contributes to social cohesion and the preservation of cultural heritage. The practical value of the article lies in developing integrated approaches to the management of tourist destinations, which can be used by local governments, tour operators, and other interested parties. The proposed recommendations will contribute to increasing the economic efficiency of tourist destinations, integrating environmental and social aspects into development strategies, and preserving the uniqueness of regions in the context of globalization processes. The research materials can be helpful in the implementation of innovative solutions in the tourism sector and the formation of competitive tourism products.
