An improved immersed boundary-lattice Boltzmann method for boiling simulation on curved boundary

This study applies the improved immersed boundary-lattice Boltzmann method (IB-LBM) to simulate heat transfer during boiling. By introducing velocity correction terms, we optimized the calculation method for body forces, significantly improving the accuracy and stability of the simulation. It ensures the accuracy of heat and mass transfer. The method allows the construction of complex surface boundaries in a regular Eulerian grid system, effectively preventing the phenomenon of streamlines penetrating the boundary. The computational capability of the current model has been validated through several classic test cases, including boiling bubbles around a cylinder, sharp-edged quadrilateral boundaries, and complex curved boundary flows, which comprehensively evaluate the performance of the proposed method. The research results show that the improved IB-LBM method can provide smoother and more continuous streamline distributions when handling non-isothermal flow problems under complex boundary conditions, and more effectively address the flow dynamics caused by changes in boundary shapes. In addition, the method demonstrates good performance in simulating heat transfer, being able to more effectively and accurately resolve temperature distributions and heat transfer processes, even under complex boundary conditions.
