Improved Detection Method for Antenna Phase Center Offset in Anechoic Chamber
In Global Navigation Satellite Systems positioning applications, the phase center offset of the receiver antenna will cause additional positioning error, which can’t be ignored for high-precision measurement. It is essential for receiver antenna to measure the phase center offset before high-precision satellite navigation surveying. With the analysis of antenna phase center offset detection process in anechoic chamber, we found that installation errors of the antenna under test can affect the detection accuracy of phase center offset. To overcome this impact and reduce installation difficulty, we propose an improved method: rotating the antenna in anechoic chamber to obtain multiple sets of phase center position data, and then using the least squares to estimate the antenna reference point position and phase center offset. Actual detection was conducted on the geodetic antenna GNSS-750, and the results showed that this method compensated for the errors caused by antenna installation and improved the detection accuracy of phase center offset.
