Analysis of Meteorological Factors on Power Supply-Demand Balance: A Case Study of Jiangsu Province
This study explores the effects of meteorological factors on power demand and supply, particularly in the context of China's pursuit of carbon peaking and carbon neutrality goals and its transition to high-quality economic growth. It highlights the increasing significance of electricity consumption and renewable energy generation volatility, as well as the escalating impact of weather conditions on power balance. By utilizing a two-way fixed effects regression model, the research analyzes daily electricity consumption, load data, and meteorological information sourced from Jiangsu Province. The findings reveal that temperature, precipitation, wind speed, and solar irradiance have substantial impacts on both electricity consumption and renewable energy generation. Furthermore, the study investigates the consequences of extreme temperature events on power load and emphasizes the need for an integrated power balance analysis model.
