Target Localization with Distributed FDA-MIMO and EPC-MIMO Radars Using CD-MUSIC
This paper investigates the issue of target localization using a distributed radar system, consisting of Frequency Diverse Array Multiple-Input Multiple-Output (FDA-MIMO) and Element-Pulse Coding MIMO (EPC-MIMO) radars in the environment of Gaussian white noise. The angle and range information are firstly obtained at each local radar station resorting to the Coordinate Descent Multiple Signal Classification (CD-MUSIC), which alternates between the two parameters while keeping the other fixed. Then, multiple sets of the local statistic are fused at fusion center, where an Iterative Least Squares (ILS) target localization method is performed to determine the target’s position. Numerical results are given to verify the localization performance with the devised approach in terms of Root Mean Square Error (RMSE), with comparison to the distributed radar system of all phased arrays.
