High Gain Tapered Slot Antenna Based on Offset Radiation Characteristic for 5G Wireless Applications
this article introduced a high gain tapered slot antenna with offset radiation characteristic. The proposed designed has an overall size of 58*64*1 mm3 mounted on a material type of FR-4. The gain can be enhanced by etching out rectangular slots with different length from the outer-edges that modifies the current behavior. Furthermore, a quarter elliptical of dielectric lens technique is employed for more gain enhancement. The dielectric lens is used to enhance the antenna gain and achieve more oblique radiating. The proposed structure is found to function in the wideband region≥1.9 GHz with S<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">11</inf><-10dB. Moreover, in the range of frequencies 1.9-12 GHz, the VSWR fluctuation with respect to frequency is observed to be less than 2. With a gain improvement of 3 dB at frequency of 10 GHz, the gain is increased across the whole desired frequency range. An offset phase shift of around 30 degrees from the endfire direction is provided by the suggested TSA. For many applications were reducing the aperture block and coupling between antennas is necessary for MIMO antenna design, this offset shift is crucial.
