Construction Method for a Precision Power BeiDou Service Network Assisted by Low Earth Orbit Satellites
With the development of smart grids, there is an increasing demand for high-precision positioning and monitoring of grid equipment. One important application is the establishment of a precision power BeiDou service network; however, Global Navigation Satellite Systems (GNSS) face several challenges, including susceptibility to obstructions, interference, and electronic spoofing, as well as slow convergence speeds in precise single-point positioning techniques. Recently, the rapidly developing Low Earth Orbit (LEO) satellite constellations are expected to complement mid- and high-altitude constellations effectively. This paper primarily investigates LEO satellite navigation enhancement technologies, exploring the feasibility and necessity of integrating LEO constellations with GNSS to enhance navigation service performance. Additionally, this study examines potential technical routes for LEO satellite-based GNSS enhancement that warrant further research. A simulation platform for precision single-point positioning using LEO and GNSS is established, and the performance and influencing factors of LEO constellations in enhancing BDS-3 precision single-point positioning are analyzed using a designed heterogeneous Walker constellation. This research provides theoretical and practical support for the construction of a future high-precision BeiDou precision service network.
