Research on the Applicability of Different Shape Prediction Methods
The strip plastic deformation model and the roll elastic deformation model serve as the fundamental frameworks for predicting shapes. Three primary approaches are employed to address the coupling relationship between these two models: traditional iteration, reverse iteration, and model coupling methods. To evaluate the effectiveness of these different approaches, aspects such as convergence, speed, and accuracy are examined through various examples. When the strip and roll models are linear, the model coupling method should be adopted in preference because it can guarantee the convergence of the calculation course, and its speed is the fastest. When the strip or roll model is nonlinear, and the strip’s thickness is thinner, the reverse iteration method should be adopted as preferred. In other cases, the traditional iteration method should be adopted as preferred.
