Sparse Array Optimization for Beampattern Synthesis with Low-Bit Phase Quantization
Synthesis of beampattern with low-bit phase quantization is a worthwhile research problem in extensive applications. In this paper, we focus on minimizing the number of elements under the low-bit phase quantization constraint. After establishing a quantization-based beampattern synthesis model, a mixed-norm optimization problem is raised for sparse array construction. By solving the problem via reweighted ℓ<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">1</inf> norm approximation, optimal configuration of the sparse array is obtained. Simulation results verify the effectiveness of the proposed method with low-bit phase quantization.
