Wide Area Power System Stabilizer Based on Intelligent Cloud Model
In this paper, a wide-area damping controller design method is proposed based on a multi-rule two-dimensional cloud model. The objective of this controller is to suppress inter-area low-frequency oscillations in a multi-area interconnected power system. Firstly, the scope of universe is set and divided reasonably, and the types and parameters of each cloud model are determined by experience. Secondly, according to the actual situation, a number of logic reasoning rules are formulated to effectively suppress low frequency oscillation. Lastly, by adjusting the input and output factors of the controller, input signals are matched with universes and the best control effect is obtained. The proposed method is simulated and verified by the IEEE 4 machines 2 areas system. The results show the designed wide-area damping controller outperforms the traditional fuzzy controller in oscillation suppression, including oscillation time and amplitude. and improves the system stability when a disturbance occurs in the interconnected system.
