Multi-angle Asymmetric Coplanar Analysis Technology for Three-dimensional Wind Field Retrieval Using the Shipborne Weather Radar
Typhoons and other disaster weather have long development cycles and are extremely destructive. Three-dimensional (3D) wind field retrieval is crucial to understanding the internal kinematics and dynamics of severe weather and predicting its evolution and tracking. The stratospheric airship is large in size, can fly at high altitudes, and has a long time in the air. It is very suitable for complete observations of weather systems with long development cycles. However, the flying speed of airships is slow, and the traditional fixed elevation angle symmetrical coplanar technology is no longer applicable. Therefore, it is very necessary to conduct the 3D wind field retrieval research under airship platforms. The paper proposes a multi-angle asymmetric coplanar analysis technology (MA-ASCAT) model suitable for shipborne weather radar, and compares the performance with the traditional method. It initially verifies the feasibility of the method and provides a theoretical basis for further research.
