Study on Fault Detection and Isolation Method for Traction Networks Based on Wavelet Transform

Rapid fault diagnosis in the traction power supply system of heavy-haul railways is critical for maintaining the normal operation of railway transportation. To address this challenge, this paper presents a novel short-circuit fault diagnosis method for traction networks, utilizing wavelet transform. The proposed method first applies wavelet transform to segment the fault intervals, followed by the decomposition and reconstruction of signal diagrams to accurately identify the specific faulted line. By meticulously analyzing the current signal variations caused by the fault, both the fault interval and the fault line can be precisely determined. Experimental results demonstrate that the wavelet-based approach significantly enhances the accuracy and efficiency of fault detection, thus validating the feasibility of the method.
