Closed-Loop Tracking OCOG-AGC Algorithm for Altitude Measurement Under Complex Terrain Conditions
By combining the offset center of gravity (OCOG) estimation with the front-end automatic gain control (AGC), a closed-loop tracking OCOG-AGC algorithm is proposed to address the problem of stable tracking of height finding radar in complex terrain environments. Fisrtly, the OCOG method is used to acquire the centroid of height finding waveform envelope inside the tracking gate to estimate the center position of echo front than traditional height measurement algorithms more accuratly. Moreover, the relationship between the height variation of the matched rectangle and the strength variation of the echo power is revealed for the system closed-loop tracking. As a result, the adaptability of the proposed OCOG-AGC algorithm is verified by processing the CryoSat-2 FBR satellite data in complex terrain conditions.
