Real-Time Frequency Synchronization for High Maneuverability Platform Radar System

The pulsed alternate phase synchronization performs well in spaceborne bistatic radar system while relying on data post-processing. This prevents its application in missions equipped with low stability frequency sources. In this paper, a real-time frequency synchronization scheme for high maneuverability platform (HMP) radar system is proposed. The synchronization performance of this scheme is firstly predicted. It reveals that the estimates are biased by a dominant deviation related to the platform acceleration and pulse alternate interval. The other errors are detailed and the error compensation strategy is briefly provided. Additionally, a comparison is made between two frequency estimation methods and their corresponding applicable scenarios are explained, respectively. Finally, the computer simulation verifies the performance prediction.
