Antenna design and optimization for short-range and high-speed wireless communication systems
Information technology, led by artificial intelligence, is in a rapid growth phase. With the continuous expansion of terminals and application modes, there is an explosive growth in data traffic. For data centers, this presents both development opportunities and numerous challenges. Millimeter-wave and terahertz optical wireless communication technology holds the promise of addressing issues in data centers, such as complex optical fiber links and significant heat dissipation pressure. In this paper, we focus on the radio frequency (RF) antenna, which is the key component of signal transmission in optical wireless communication systems applied to data centers. We have designed a variety of broadband RF antennas operating at 30 GHz, with a bandwidth exceeding 5 GHz. These antennas were fabricated on printed circuit board (PCB), and their S- parameters were measured using a vector network analyzer. The measurement results were found to be generally consistent with the simulation results. The broadband RF antennas we designed can be applied in short-range, high-speed wireless communication scenarios, such as data centers and system on wafer.
