A Novel Suppression Method for Pulse-Doppler Radar with Coexistence of Clutter and Jamming
Pulse-Doppler radars are widely applied in moving targets detection where jamming and clutter are recurring and inevitable. Previous research has proposed various solutions for jamming and clutter suppression individually. However, the simultaneous existence of typical deception jamming and strong clutter significantly obstructs radar detection performance more than the presence of only one component. This paper proposes a novel suppression method to address the jamming and clutter coexistence problem. We first achieve jamming discrimination and in turn cancel clutter component through constructing clutter subspace. Afterwards, jamming suppression is accomplished by frequency parameters estimation of jamming segments and subspace projection considering the deception jamming time-frequency characteristics. The proposed method can distinctly suppress deception jamming and strong clutter, performing effective target detection after traditional pulse-Doppler processing. Simulations are conducted to verify the effectiveness of proposed method.
