Influence of Vapour-Liquid Channel Distribution on the Performance of Flat-Plate Heat Pipes

With the progress of technology and the development of industrialisation, power electronic equipment is developing towards high performance and miniaturisation, and its heat dissipation needs are gradually increasing. Efficient thermal management technology plays an important role in the stable operation of power electronic equipment. Flat-plate heat pipe(FHP)s utilise the principle of internal phase change, and are characterised by the absence of external power drive and high thermal conductivity, which helps to reduce the overall energy consumption and extend the service life of power electronic systems. Improving the performance of FHP has become a hot research topic. In this paper, we analyse the heat transfer principle of FHP and find that a reasonable vapour-liquid channel ratio has an important influence on the efficiency of vapour-liquid two-phase flow, thus improving the heat exchange capability of FHP. To this end, we change the vapour-liquid channel ratio by changing the wick width, set up an experimental test platform, and find that the FHP with a vapour-liquid channel ratio of 160% has the optimal heat exchange capability.
