A Robust Parameter Estimation Method of Space Targets Based on the Information Fusion of Wideband and Narrowband Radar Network
Structural and micro-motion parameter estimation of space targets is crucial for target recognition. Because of the shortcomings of the same type radar in parameter estimation, a method is proposed for estimating the parameters of space targets based on a hybrid-scheme radar network. By effectively fusing the characteristics of radars, the method achieves robust and precise estimation. Firstly, the micro-Doppler and micro-range curves of the scattering centers are obtained through feature extraction algorithms with high precision and robustness. Then, using a combination of a wideband and a narrowband radar as the basis, the parameters are preliminarily estimated. This method can also achieve effective estimation when the line-of-sight of radars are similar, demonstrating good adaptability. Finally, the parameter information estimated from all combinations is fused to further enhance the estimation accuracy. Simulation results show that when the signal-to-noise ratio is greater than 0 dB, the estimation accuracy of the proposed method is superior to simply taking the mean of the parameter groups, demonstrating good robustness and effectiveness.
