A method of replacing failed GIS equipment in a restricted space
When a substation was carrying out the local discharge test of 220kV busbar switch, it was found that there was a suspected local discharge signal in the switching interval of 220kV #1M-#2M busbar 2012. After detailed investigation of the signal, it was confirmed that the discharge signal originated from within the GIS and was not caused by interference from the external environment. Further through comparative analysis and based on the propagation characteristics of the discharge signal, we deduced that the approximate location of the discharge source is located in the area from the 2012 interval to the 2M busbar. In view of the above, the knife gate equipment at this location needs to be replaced. The purpose of this paper is to explain in detail, in such a space-limited area, how to skillfully build a support platform and set up a rail panning system, to minimize the scope of power outages and reduce the scope of equipment removal under the premise of the equipment to complete the replacement of efficient and safe operations.
