Design of Oxide-coated Ru Cluster Electrodes and Performance Analysis in Zinc-air Batteries
The design of an oxide-coated Ru cluster electrode is presented in this study. First, a technique for chemically or physically adsorbing Ru clusters to the surface of VS<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf> nanosheets was developed to stabilize the Ru clusters there. This structure not only improved the communication between Ru clusters and $\mathrm{VS}_{\mathbf{2}}$ but also successfully stopped Ru clusters from clumping together and breaking apart. Second, the VS<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf> nanosheets were vertically implanted in carbon fabric to obtain high reactivity and exceptional durability. The carbon fabric steadily supported the $\mathbf{V S}_{2}$ nanosheets because of its superior mechanical strength and outstanding conductivity. Concurrently, the VS $\boldsymbol{V}_{2}$ nanosheets’ vertical orientation increases the electrode’s reactivity, which promotes electrolyte ion diffusion and transport.
