Exact and numerical solutions of boundary layer flow of nanofluids over a moving wedge

This article investigates the effect of nanoparticles on the boundary layer flow over a surface of a moving wedge. By applying appropriate similarity transformations, the continuity, momentum and heat transfer equations are converted into nonlinear system of ordinary differential equations. In this study, the resulting system of coupled nonlinear differential equations is addressed using two different methods. The first method yields an exact solution under the specific conditions Pr=NθNf and β=−1, leading to explicit multiple solutions. This outcome represents a novel addition to the literature. For general β and Pr, an analytical solution is then obtained using the exact solution found earlier. The numerical solutions obtained by the Haar wavelet collocation method (HWCM) are compared with the analytical method to verify its validity, showing good agreement between the two methods. Multiple solutions of the considered problem are obtained over a range of physical parameters by using the Haar wavelet approach. The study presents the results concerning velocity and temperature profiles, coefficient of skin friction, and the local Nusselt number, followed by a discussion on the physical significance of the flow parameters.
