Correction: Higher reading spans mitigate context effects on lexical processing by low-proficiency L2 learners: a self-paced reading study
In the sentence beginning "As indicated in Table S2,..." in the Supplementary PDF for this article, the sentence "As indicated in Table S2, all models did not yield an effect of Context, suggesting that L1 speakers processed high-and low-context sentences at a similar rate in these regions."should have read "As indicated in Table S2, none of the models showed a robust effect of Context, suggesting that L1 speakers processed high-and low-context sentences at a similar rate. However, in the Final Region, the pd value was relatively high (95.30%),suggesting slower processing of low-context sentences, though this remains suggestive (Nicenboim et al., 2018).It is not surprising that L1 speakers exhibit context effects to some extent, as demonstrated in previous studies (Murray & Rowan, 1998; Sereno et al., 2003).However, in this study, the effect was much weaker, unlike the stronger evidence observed among L2 learners (see results for the spillover region).Overall, L1 speakers showed little evidence of context effects on lexical processing during sentence comprehension.".In the supplementary table, Table S2, the last row of the table has been corrected.
