EFICÁCIA DE HEMOSPRAY NO TRATAMENTO DE HEMORRAGIAS GASTROINTESTINAIS: REVISÃO SISTEMÁTICA
Introduction. Hemorrhages in the gastrointestinal tract make this an important cause of morbidity and mortality and, therefore, need immediate management to decrease the risk of death. Endoscopic intervention is considered the gold standard in the treatment of this condition in association with hemostatic techniques. However, up to 10% of patients experience recurrence of bleeding after initial hemostasis. Goal. To analyze the efficacy and safety of the use of TC325 in gastrointestinal hemorrhages for different causes and compare them with other techniques. Methods. Systematic literature review, using the MedLine database. The search term was developed with the help of the MeSH tool and the studies found were applied filters according to the period of publication (2009-2019), availability of the full text, in the English language and which were carried out with humans. Studies with review designs, systematic reviews and case studies were excluded, opting for the manual selection of this item. The evaluated outcomes were the rate of initial hemostasis and the rate of rebleeding. Results. 48 publications were found, all published from 2013. However, after the selection process, only 11 were qualified for the present review, totaling 917 patients divided into control groups, experimental groups or reported as participants in observational studies where all individuals were submitted to the treatment of hemorrhage using TC325 / Hemospray, alone or in combination with another technique or medication. Conclusion. TC-325 has become a candidate for further and more in-depth studies from the perspective of the medical specialty of Gastroenterelogy. Its optimal indications and technical limitations need to be better characterized, although the results obtained so far are promising.
