Dermoscopic features of acral melanosis in patients with Fitzpatrick skin types IV–VI
Acral melanosis is a pigmentary abnormality found on the acral surfaces of patients with darker skin, about which little is known. Patients with darker Fitzpatrick skin types have not been well represented in the limited studies that have been published on this topic, calling for more research on ethnic acral melanosis, particularly in darker-skinned patients. This is the largest case study to date of patients with Fitzpatrick skin types IV–VI that describes the dermoscopic findings of acral melanosis.
