A Study on the Vocabulary Compilation of Special Purpose Chinese Textbooks: Take “Chinese + Mechatronics technology” Textbook As an Example

At present, international Chinese education presents a trend of multi-field, multi-goal, specialization, professionalization and practicality. The branch of special-purpose Chinese education has become an important branch in the field of international Chinese education. With the rapid development of special-purpose Chinese education, the applicability of teaching materials has become increasingly obvious, especially in vocabulary compilation. The deficiencies of the research on the compilation of textbook vocabulary and the lack of systematic research are gradually exposed. Based on the science and technology major of “Mechatronics Technology”, this paper studies the word compilation of the latest and only two primary Chinese textbooks for “Mechatronics Technology” from five aspects: vocabulary quantity, classification of parts of speech, vocabulary repetition, vocabulary arrangement and annotation, and vocabulary practice. On the one hand, the overall situation of the Chinese vocabulary writing of this major is investigated. On the other hand, the differences, advantages and disadvantages of the vocabulary writing of the two textbooks are analyzed through the comparison of the two textbooks, and relevant suggestions on the optimization of vocabulary writing are put forward. It is hoped that it can provide inspiration for the compilation of special Chinese textbooks and related vocabulary teaching for mechatronics majors or other industrial Chinese.
