An Apprenticeship in Attention for a Time Between Worlds
PechaKucha Presentation Abstract The aim of this Pecha Kucha is to describe the power and beauty of intergenerational sense‐making at the end of life and what it asks of us as ethnographic researchers in times of upheaval and transition. Reminiscence work asks ethnographers to reexamine: 1. our conceptions of expertise; 2. The supposed ‘depth’ of in‐depth interviews; 3. The need to welcome serendipity and silence, whereby the guiding measure of an ethnographic encounter is the quality of presence and play, not the extractive rush to ‘actionable insight.‘
