Design and Development of Quadratic Gain Single Input Dual Output DC-DC Converter for Communication System Application

This paper introduces a novel Single Input Dual Output (SIDO) DC-DC converter for communication system applications. Existing SIDO converters face issues like limited voltage gain, high component count, complex circuitry, lack of common ground, and significant current ripple. To overcome these challenges, a new SIDO converter is proposed, featuring an innovative design with four inductors, four capacitors, three switches, and two diodes. Steady-state analysis is conducted, and output voltage equations are derived. The converter is designed for a 48 V input and a 50 kHz switching frequency, producing output voltages of V01 = 5 V and V02 = 12 V with 10 W and 15 W, respectively. A hardware prototype has been fabricated and tested successfully in a laboratory environment. The experimental results are presented in the paper

Existing SIDO converters face issues like limited voltage gain, high component count, complex circuitry, lack of common ground, and significant current ripple. To overcome these challenges, a new SIDO converter is proposed, featuring an innovative design with four inductors, four capacitors, three switches, and two diodes.
