Da arte das armadilhas
This essay analyzes some aspects of Ana Martins Marques’ poetry based on her second book of poetry, Da arte das armadilhas (2012). Specifically, it observes the relationship between the aesthetic form and the represented matter, as well as the lyrical tendency of her work, to argue that her poems elaborate contradictions of the social process and do not depart from these issues, as some current readings suggest. To this end, this essay mobilizes a lecture and a conference by Adorno published in Notes to Literature I, namely, “On Lyric Poetry and Society” and “The Artist as Deputy”, as well as analyzing, in detail, some poems and the general composition of this book by Marques.
