SPR Based Refractive Index Sensor with Multilayered Gold and Graphene: A Bio-sensing Approach using Wave Theory based Delineation
An analytical illustration of the SPR based refractive index detection using wave theory based observation for the field of bio sensing application is represented here. The multilayered structure composed of ZnO, Au, MoS<inf xmlns:mml="http://www.w3.org/1998/Math/MathML" xmlns:xlink="http://www.w3.org/1999/xlink">2</inf> and graphene nano-layers at a fundamental wavelength of 632 nm. For generating SPR, Au layer is responsible and for the accurate detection of the analyte with the variation of refractive indices the graphene layer has been used. Change of the refractive index of the sensing layer, results the variation in the resonance angles with this structure. Here the biomolecules with the change of refractive index from 1.33 to 1.45, acts as the sensing layer for the configuration and the respective change of resonance angle is from 57.7 ° to 69.8 °. The observed sensitivity for this case is 85°/RIU. To create similarity between the experimental solutions and the analytical results, wave theory based approach has been accustomed here. Thus with enhanced sensitivity with much higher performances, the outer biomolecule layer has been find out for change in concentrations, which expedites the new ways in the area of biosensors and other industrial applications.
