Improved Voltage Regulation in SI-SIDO DC-DC Converter Through Controller Tuning in Light Load Conditions
This research aims to enhance the performance and balance of DC-DC converters, focusing on the Single Inductor Single Input Dual Output (SI-SIDO) design and controller implementation. It addresses challenges like load changes, ringing effects, and PID controller tuning. The research presents solutions in digital controller design and modulation methods, particularly pulse-skipping modulation. The main goals include improving regulation accuracy and response to load changes through detailed theoretical analysis and simulations on MATLAB. The proposed SI-SIDO Buck Converter with Pulse Skipping Modulation shows significant improvements by reducing ringing effects and enhancing output stability. This design is particularly suitable for smaller applications. Pulse-skipping modulation helps lower inductor current ringing, which reduces electromagnetic interference. Through the controller tuning under different load scenarios for subconverters, the stable operation is ensured.
