Architecture of the IoE-style Electrical Network with Thyristor Voltage Regulators and Renewable Energy Sources
The article is devoted to the development of a concept for creating an electric grid with renewable energy sources (RES) and thyristor voltage regulators (TVR), operating on the Internet of Energy (IoE) principle. The main IoE technologies are considered, including: Transactive Energy (TE), Internet of Things (IoT), and Neural Grid (NG) systems). Typical topologies for IoE construction are analyzed. The TVR developed by the authors performs energy router and IoE interconnect device functions. The architectures of the TVR power unit and control system are considered. Feature of the TVR is the use of pulse-phase control. TVR output voltage oscillograms in the modes of longitudinal (in-phase), transverse (quadrature), and longitudinal-transverse regulation are presented. The oscillograms show how the developed TVR possibility to change the voltage amplitude and phase angle. IoE-based electrical network architecture is proposed, where interaction between the TV and RES with peer-to-peer energy-informational cyber-secure exchange in the network of mesh of cells topology plays a crucial role.
